Solid start for Novak Djokovic at the French Open 2022: The world number one had no problems with Yoshihito Nishioka and easily defeated the Japanese 6: 3, 6: 1 and 6: 0. Thus, the Serb took the first step towards defending his title in Roland Garros.

Djokovic only had a little trouble at the very beginning of the game, but after the first break to make it 4-2, his opponents' resistance was broken. In the second set, when the score was 5-0, the industry leader allowed himself a brief inattention, which Nishioka punished with a break. It should be the 26-year-old's last game win.

In the second round Djokovic meets Alex Molcan or Federico Coria on Wednesday. The two couldn't even start their match on Monday due to the rain that started again in the evening and will therefore only duel on Tuesday.
