Monday will be opened by the number 1 in the world for women: Iga Swiatek starts at 11 a.m. on Court Philippe-Chatrier against qualifier Lesia Tsurenko, then defending champion Barbora Krejcikova will do the honors against the young French Diane Parry - currently ranked 97th and equipped with a beautiful one-handed backhand.

The starting positions are quite different for Swiatek and Krejcikova: Swiatek currently has 28 match wins in a row; Krejcikova last played in Doha in February and has yet to play a competitive match on clay in 2022.

Then: Rafael Nadal against Jordan Thompson. In the run-up to Roland Garros, Nadal had again shown himself to be more optimistic about his malady foot and, according to Alexander Zverev, plays more light-footedly and faster than anywhere else on his favorite spot anyway.

Then in the evening, from 8.45 p.m.: Novak Djokovic can play in the night session, which is subject to an extra charge, against Yoshihito Nishioka.

Osaka vs. Anisimova on Suzanne-Lenglen

Meanwhile, Naomi Osaka opens on Court Suzanne-Lenglen at 11 a.m. It sounds strange, but it's like this: She plays (as an unseed) against Amanda Anisimova , who is listed at 27. And has bad experiences: Anisimova last defeated her at the Australian Open this year.

Then Stan Wawrinka meets Corentin Moutet, followed by Anett Kontaveit against Ajla Tomljanovic and Richard Gasquet against Lloyd Harris.

Angelique Kerber, Andres Petkovic and Emma Raducanu are also in action

Strasbourg winner Angelique Kerber is also in action against Magdalena Frech (3rd game after 11 a.m., Court 6), Andrea Petkovic against local hero Oceane Dodin (11 a.m., Court Simonne-Mathieu) and US Open winner Emma Raducanu against Linda Noskova (3rd game after 11 a.m., Court Simonne Mathieu).

And, from a Swiss perspective: Viktorija Golubic against Katie Volynets (4th game, court 9) and Henri Laaksonen against Pedro Martinez (4th match, court 12).
