Dominik Koepfer has moved into the second round of the French Open as the second German tennis professional after Alexander Zverev. The 27-year-old from Furtwangen prevailed 6: 3, 6: 3, 6: 4 in his first round match against French Mathias Bourgue on Monday evening. Koepfer's next opponent is Taylor Fritz (USA / No. 30).
Maximilian Marterer, Peter Gojowczyk, Yannick Hanfmann and Oscar Otte, who lost to Zverev in five sets in the direct duel, had previously failed in the first round of the men's singles. The German women are even threatened with collective end .
