Djokovic started well and won the first five games. After that, Laaksonen found the game better, but the 32-year-old wasn't really at risk in the second set either. The Swiss managed a rebreak to 3: 3 in the second round, but the world number one got three of the next four games and thus also the second round.

In the third set, Djokovic quickly took the lead with a break, as in the first section. The Lucky Loser continued to hold up well, but the Swiss Confederation did not manage to break any more. Djokovic fixed the smooth 6: 1, 6: 4 and 6: 3 success after 1:33 hours on the Suzanne Lenglen court.

Surprisingly, in the third round the industry leader does not meet Gilles Simon but Salvatore Caruso. The Frenchman clearly lost in three sets against the Italian.
