Only three weeks until two hobby players on the center court in the Kitzbühel tennis stadium will contest the ultimate match of their lives, and one of the lucky ones will be able to take home a brand new Cupra Formentor on top of that. Due to the lockdown that lasts until almost the end of May, we have something like half-time at the Generali Race to Kitzbühel after the last tournament weekend. Time to draw a first conclusion.

Strong nominal result despite team championships all over Austria

The Generali Race to Kitzbühel has recorded 633 entries in the past five weeks since the starting shot in Linz & Annenheim, despite Austria's wide-ranging team championships and corona rules, which had held one or the other player to participate. The fight for the coveted starting places at the final tournament in Kitzbühel has of course long broken out and is entering its decisive phase, especially in the eastern region.

At the third stop in the federal capital, of all people, a Tyrolean has booked his ticket home for the Generali Race Final Showdown. Alexander Pilsz, an Innsbrucker living in Vienna, finally won his first tournament victory in ITN category 4 in the third attempt and leads the intermediate ranking in the race with 26 points more than superior. Christian Gisch can already look around for a hotel during the Generali Open week. After his triumph in Baden, the 32-year-old from Burgenland also remained victorious in UTC La Ville and leads the East Race in ITN category 6.0 with twice as many points as the runner-up.

TC Strebersdorf gets crystal number 5 through Sascha Lang

The ambitious team of TC Strebersdorf celebrated the fifth individual title as part of the Generali Race to Kitzbühel on Tuesday evening. After the double success of his club colleague Kevin Suppin, Sascha Lang already won the third crystal of the "blue jackets from Strebersdorf" and moved up to second place in the overall standings.
