So now in the west of the Alpine republic it is also about the four open starting places in the six ITN categories and the associated tickets for participation in the final event of the largest and most exquisite tournament that is held in Austria for hobby players. The final Tyrol weeks with the two qualifying stations in Kolsass & Going and the final spectacle in Kitzbühel offer all red-white-red hobby players one last chance, a Cupra Born in a single and two e-scooters Seat Mo 125 in the to win doubles. In the Lower Inn Valley, more precisely in the municipality of Kolsass, the Generali Race 2022 started on Tyrolean soil last weekend, where the local tennis club presented itself in a highly professional manner and got an extremely neat tennis facility in front of the curtain of the Generali Race to Kitzbühel. In the nature reserve of the Kolsasse Auwald, men and women from five federal states (Tyrol, Vorarlberg, Salzburg, Upper Austria and Lower Austria) competed on four Tennis Force All Weather Courts under the expert guidance of chairman Thomas Eder for the six crystal-awarded titles and very important qualifications -Points for the finishing West Region race.

David Zach with the premiere title and Sebastian Staudacher outstripped the competition in the 5.0 race in the west region

Let's start our look at the sporting performance and results of the Tyrolean tennis cracks in the ITN 4.0 competition, where 17-year-old David Zach from the Innsbruck Turnerschaft is another candidate for the top four in the West Region race Has. The Tyrolean teenager scored ten points in the race with a 6:4, 6:2 win over Lukas-Benedikt Tschuggnall and is therefore in an excellent starting position before the qualifying final in Going as far as participation in the final event in Kitzbühel is concerned. Zach's club colleague Sebastian Staudacher doesn't have to worry about qualifying for a long time. He is probably the most diligent collector of points and titles from the Holy Land of Tyrol. 18 points make the youngster from Innsbruck the leader in the ITN 4.0 category, with Staudacher being even more dominant in the ITN 5.0 category and having literally outclassed the competition after three tournaments with 28 points. The Kolsass final in the five-a-side competition brought the first small blemish from the point of view of the 17-year-old, where he lost in the final duel between the two top seeded club colleagues against Lasse Pretl with 6: 7, 1: 6, and thus after his successes on Wallersee and in Dornbirn narrowly missed the title hat-trick.

Göttings with the first father-son double pack and Martin Pachler clears up big in singles and doubles

In the ITN 6.0 competition, Harald Steinlechner from TC Vomp celebrated a successful rendezvous at the Generali Race to Kitzbühel with a sovereign title win without losing a set, with which he also climbed to the top of the ITN 6.0 category . Meanwhile, the "Göttings from the Gamsstadt" provided a novelty in the ITN competitions 7.0 & 8.0. For the first time in the history of the Generali Race to Kitzbühel, father and son were able to bring shimmering turquoise crystal home at the same time on one weekend. The German tennis duo didn't drop a set on the way to the family double pack. Papa Markus prevents a home win for TC Kolsass in the 7.0 final against the great performing 14-year-old Sophie Jordan, while son Matti ends his final generation duel with number two seeded Simone Auer from TC Terfens Vomperbach in the 8-man tournament with 6 :3, 6:4 won. Finally, Martin Pachler from TC Vomp secured the title in the 9.0 competition, who played four matches without losing a set and crowned his top performance from the Kolsass weekend with the double title alongside Alexander Weißenhofer. Speaking of doubles: The decision in this "show competition" advanced to a real night session and only ended 15 minutes after midnight under floodlights. However, the qualification for the final tournament of the Generali Race to Kitzbühel on Tyrolean soil is not over yet. Next weekend the tennis club in Going is going into the big qualifying final, for which there are only a few remaining places left.
