The most westerly qualifying tournament for this year's Generali Race to Kitzbühel took place last weekend in the market town of Hard on Lake Constance. With its 9 outdoor sand courts and two indoor courts, the facility, which is large and in a fantastic location, is predestined to host events such as the Generali Race to Kitzbühel. Of course, this year's edition, like all other tennis tournaments last weekend, had to contend with the capricious weather in Austria. Nevertheless, the organizers did a great job and brought the penultimate station to the Generali Race in the West region to a perfect end.

Double competition as a big highlight

Once indoors, then again outdoors, you had to be a little all-rounder to get "big points" in the Generai Race to Kitzbühel at the qualifying tournament in Hard last weekend. The amateur players from the state eagerly hunted for points in six ITN categories and created a good starting position for participating in the big final tournament in Going & Kitzbühel at the end of July. The attraction in Ländle was the double competition, which in the end the favorites Max Giesinger and Tobi Fürschuß won, but before that they worked up a sweat against players with a much higher ITN rating.

Prominent visit to the Generali Race Qualiturnier in Hard

In addition, the Harder qualification tournament for the Generali Race to Kitzbühel had the most prominent visitor of all qualification competitions. The organizer of the Generali Race to Kitzbühel Höchst visited the TC Hard in person with ATP tournament director and Servus TV expert Alexander Antonitsch, and was delighted with what he saw. "It was nice to see how many young players in particular took part. And the double competition is amazing. It creates a lot of tension and fun at the same time," said Antonitsch.
