The German contingent in the main field of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Indian Wells could increase by three players: Because both the veteran Philipp Kohlschreiber as well as Daniel Masur and Mats Moraing have mastered their first round tasks in the qualification. Masur's victory against Elias Ymer was particularly noteworthy. Masur now meets Taro Daniel from Japan.

Kohlschreiber had to go through three sets against Alex Bolt and won 2: 6, 6: 4 and 6: 4. Opponent in the final for a place in the 96 grid is local hero Denis Kudla. And Mats Moraing, who won an ATP Challenger tournament in Turin last week, benefited from Yannick Maden's task. Moraing now plays against the Chinese Juncheng Shang.

Fixed in the main draw is Alexander Zverev, who is in third place and opens against either Grigor Dimitrov or Tommy Paul. Jan-Lennard Struff starts against Ilya Ivashka, Dominik Koepfer has to deal with Benoit Paire. Oscar Otte opens against Richard Gasquet, Daniel Altmaier meets Steve Johnson.
