Jamie Murray - "Wimbledon Doesn't Have Good Prospects"
What will happen to the Wimbledon tournament this summer? Jamie Murray , who has been at Church Road since 2006, is not optimistic.

The Murray brothers have long immortalized themselves in the annals of the Wimbledon tournament: Andy won the title individually in 2013 and 2016, brother Jamie prevailed in the mixed competition with Jelena Jankovic (2007) and Martina Hingis (2017). While the status of Andy is still unclear, Jamie had planned to start at Wimbledon this summer. A crisis meeting in the coming week will decide whether the highlight of the lawn season will actually take place. Dirk Hordorff, DTB Vice President, assumed in the current issue of our podcast "Quiet, please" that the event was rejected, Boris Becker, on the other hand, was optimistic on Friday evening in Instagram chat with Christopher Kas.

Jamie Murray is somewhere in between. Also in terms of a shift, as the French Open has already demonstrated. "I don't know how long they can push the tournament back," said Murray. "They really want to run their event. It's still three and a half months and a lot of things can change during this time." The British are currently struggling with the Corona virus, and more than a million people are said to remain at home for a period of twelve weeks.
"Wimbledon doesn't have a good prospect right now," Murray said. "When so many sporting events around the world are canceled and they are still trying to do their thing. There are many parties and other tournaments to consider. Things like daylight for the Wimbledon tournament also have to be considered. When the event is postponed, there is less and less daylight If we play Wimbledon at the normal time, you can play until 10pm. "
