After the media hype surrounding Carlos Alcaraz - according to Alexander Zverev it is even a bit exaggerated - it has become a bit quiet about the youngsters in the past few days. For good reason, after the quarter-finals at the French Open, the world number seven took a break from the ATP tour against the German Zverev and did not compete in a tournament before Wimbledon.

Now the 19-year-old has already landed in London and will start at an exhibition before the third Grand Slam tournament of the year. There it is also important to confirm the good physical condition at competition level, as Juan Carlos Ferrero explained to the EFE agency: "He worked well physically. Carlos likes to play on grass. In the academy we have on artificial turf trained, which isn't quite the same thing."

During the break, physical problems with "Carlitos" were also taken care of, especially with the elbow: "In tennis we took care of the elbow a bit, that's why he had the bandage. The elbow bothered him a bit and the Bandage is designed to protect the joint." However, Alcaraz completed a first training session in Wimbledon with Stan Wawrinka.

For the former world number one, Wimbledon is "the most difficult tournament". Because: "It's the one with the least preparation. On a physical level, it's very exhausting because the lawn is the surface on which it costs the most to regenerate from one game to the next. That's why Wimbledon is always a mystery. It can complicate a game you see as affordable, or just the opposite."
