Zverev had the chance to break right at the start of the match, but Isner fended off with an ace. It should remain the only way to break the passage. A 0:30 at 2: 2 also made up for "Big John" with good serves, he also won the best ball change of the set at 4: 4 - only for 15: 0, but enough for teammate Nick Kyrgios Diver.
Ultimately, there was a tie-break in which Zverev played big for the 4: 1 - with a fine net action and a good counterattack. Impressive: The 21-year-old won 100 percent of his points when the first service came - 21/21.
Isner takes the chance to equalize the set
The second round went quickly until 4: 4, but Zverev opened Isner via double faults the way back into the game. With a bit of luck, he used the second breakball: a return was unexpectedly a stop, Zverev's answer short cross ended up out of bounds - which led Jack Sock to a small dance performance - and Isner served himself in the match tie-break.
There the world ranked 20 packed. the hard club from, a forehand hammer to 4: 0 could have had sock speed, Zverev only came to the honor of the short decision at 7: 0 for the American.
The match to read in the live ticker.
"He was 85 percent of the match the better player, I was a bit lucky at the end of the second set," Isner said, respecting his opponent in the on-court interview.
