Almost without exception the paper form prevailed at the German Championships in Biberach an der Riß. With the exception of Julian Lenz (ATP 235), all top seeded players fought their way into the final. For men, Lenz could not live up to his role as favorite in the semi-finals. The 26-year-old Hesse from TC Bad Homburg lost at the indoor tournament in Baden-Württemberg to Leonard von Hindte in the semi-final. Lenz lost to the player of the Hamburg Club on the Alster 6: 3: 4: 6, 3: 6. /

In contrast, Daniel Masur (ATP 255), who started number two on the seed list, prevailed in Upper Swabia. The 25-year-old from Munich prevailed against Johann Willems from TC Wolfsberg Pforzheim with 6: 2, 2: 6, 7: 6 (4).

For women, Katharina Hobgarski (WTA 238) and Antonia Lottner (WTA 161) lived up to their role as favorites. While the number one Hobgarski won against Lara Schmidt 3: 6, 6: 2, 6: 3 in three sets, Lottner had less trouble in the 6: 1, 6: 4 against Romy Kölzer than her upcoming opponent in the final.
