Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton sometimes plays tennis in his spare time. And he's not afraid to show that too. The reactions were not long in coming.

During the ATP Finals, the ATP made a small survey of the eight individual participants about who, apart from the tennis court, had the greatest talent in another sport. In terms of discipline, there was actually agreement: football. And Rafael Nadal and Dominic Thiem are clearly ahead.

Whereby Stefanos Tsitsipas remembered that Nadal also cuts an excellent figure on the golf course, having only recently performed strongly at a tournament from Mallorca. After all: In basketball there could still be chances against the Spanish matador.

The trend is very clear, however: athletes who work full-time with a ball can find their way around similar disciplines. Before Nadal, Ivan Lendl, Yevgeny Kafelnikov and above all Mardy Fish demonstrated their excellent skills on the golf course. Conversely, it looks like tennis isn't that easy to learn.

Dirk Nowtzki is also an ace in tennis

At least up to a level at which one can credibly convey competence (it is well known that Woody Allen has already failed in this task: Jonathan Rhys Meyers was supposed to embody an aspirant for the Wimbledon victory in "Match Point" - the cinematic results were a glimpse into the district class. At best.). Notable exception, once again: Dirk Nowitzki, who before his career as a basketball player was also on the tennis ball.

The relationship between the Hamilton family and the yellow felt ball is described as "distant", however, in a very friendly way. Which doesn't matter, given Lewis' phenomenal achievements in Formula 1. It is rather encouraging that the seven-time champion recently tried his hand at the tennis court - and with his slice father Anthony usually confronts major problems.

According to the Instagram post, there was certainly no lack of good advice: While Fabio Fognini thinks Hamilton is on the right track, Naomi Osaka urges more training. Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams felt very well entertained, Sloane Stepehns and Viktoria Azarenka enjoyed the reaction from father Hamilton.

The only question of concern, however, asked star coach Patrick Mouratoglou, namely whether Lewis Hamilton really needed a chair umpire in a fun match against his father.
