For women, the traditionally well-attended event takes place in Moscow this week. Belinda Bencic and Kiki Bertens will start in the Russian metropolis to secure the last remaining ticket for the WTA Finals in Shenzhen. Serena Williams currently has the best chances of starting at the A-WM, but the American does not play in Moscow.

Elina Svitolina will be top seed. The Ukrainian already has her place at the WTA Finals. Particularly interesting: In the semifinals of Moscow there could be a direct encounter between Kiki Bertens, who is currently ninth in the race, and Belinda Bencic, just one position behind.

But in Moscow, Russian fans will also see the masters of creation. Shanghai winner Daniil Medvedev, who will start as the number one of the tournament, is likely to cause special cheers. Karen Khachanov, who could play against Philipp Kohlschreiber in the second round, and Marin Cilic will also play at the ATP 250 tournament.

Battle for London

In Antwerp, David Goffin and Gael Monfils will try to collect valuable points in the fight for the ATP Finals in London. Goffin is currently in tenth place, Monfils in 13th place. In the Belgian port city, Diego Schwartzman, Stan Wawrinka and Andy Murray also fight for 250 points for the world rankings.

The third men's tournament this week takes place in Stockholm. The top seed is London aspirant Fabio Fognini, at the bottom of the table is US Open semi-finalist Grigor Dimitrov. Taylor Fritz, Denis Shapovalov and Pablo Carreno Busta are other interesting players in the Swedish capital.

Unaffected by the fight for the WTA Finals in Shenzhen, another women's tournament will also take place in Luxembourg. Following Angelique Kerber's injury-related cancellation, Elise Mertens is in first place, followed by defending champion Julia Görges. The 15-year-old Linz winner Coco Gauff will also compete in Luxembourg.
