The 17-time Grand Slam winner told the Belgrade newspaper Sportski Zurnal on Wednesday: "I will not play in Paris because I cannot win any world ranking points there. But I will go to Vienna and London."

Djokovic won the tournament on the Seine in 2019. This year he cannot lose any points if he does not compete. The ATP had introduced a corresponding rule change before the tour restarted. Djokovic did not start in Vienna last year. "I can win 500 points there," said the Djoker and added to London: "A lot of points are possible there too." In 2019 he was eliminated from the group matches at the ATP final after defeats against Dominic Thiem and Roger Federer.

Zverev in Paris and London at the start

The tournament in Vienna, the Erste Bank Open, will take place from October 26th to November 1st. Djokovic starts there as number one ahead of defending champion Thiem and the Russian Daniil Medvedev.

From November 15 to 22, London will host the season finale for the eight best tennis professionals. Hamburg's Alexander Zverev, who won his biggest title to date in the o2 arena in 2018, will also compete there. Last year Stefanos Tsitsipas was crowned unofficial ATP world champion.
