The mood in the German team is good, as the pictures published on social media suggest. And Alexander Zverev, the greatest hope for black, red and gold precious metals in the individual, continues to spread a good mood in terms of sport. Zverev beat Daniel Elahi Galan from Colombia 6: 2 and 6: 2 without any problems and is already in the round of 16. There the German number one gets to do with either Nikoloz Basilashvili or Lorenzo Sonego.

A concentrated lecture of almost 70 minutes was enough for Zverev to move into the third round. Given the particularly demanding conditions in Tokyo, it is not unimportant that the native of Hamburg was able to conserve strength in the second match after his impressive opening success against Yen-Hsun Lu.

Zverev stayed on course for the semi-finals, in which he could meet the big favorite Novak Djokovic according to the draw. The Serb will play against Jan-Lennard Struff later on Monday. Together with Struff, Zverev is also represented in the doubles competition.
