The successful partnership between Porsche AG and the DTB has existed since 2012, which primarily includes the support of the Porsche Team Germany in the Billie Jean King Cup (formerly Fed Cup) as well as the young players in the Porsche Talent Team and Porsche Junior Team.

“We are very pleased that we can continue our successful cooperation with Porsche AG. Especially in these difficult times for all of us, it is important to have a reliable partner by your side. Thanks to Porsche AG, we have been able to significantly improve the framework conditions for women's tennis and the support program for our young women over the past eight years, ”said DTB President Ulrich Klaus. "We would like to continue on this common path and set the course for a successful future in German women's tennis, especially in the junior segment," continues Klaus.

Porsche as the cornerstone of the summer series of the DTB

“The partnership with the German Tennis Association, together with the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, forms the heart of Porsche's activities in German women's tennis. By extending the cooperation, Porsche is underscoring the sustainability of this commitment, ”says Detlev von Platen, Member of the Board of Management for Sales and Marketing at Porsche AG. “In addition to the Porsche Team Germany, the next generation of tennis is particularly important to us. Especially in challenging times, we would like to continue to make our contribution to ensuring that the funding structures in German tennis are well positioned for the future and that the young players have the best development opportunities. "

An important cornerstone of the successful collaboration between the DTB and Porsche was the German Ladies' Series presented by Porsche this summer. This innovative tournament series gave German players the opportunity, despite the interruption of the international professional and junior tours caused by the corona pandemic, to gain important match practice and to return to competition mode early on in view of the restart.

Fed Cup final round postponed

In the eight-year partnership, Porsche Team Germany was able to reach the final in 2014 and the semi-finals in the Billie Jean King Cup, the most important in 2015 and 2018

Team competition in women's tennis. This year the German national team qualified for the final round in Budapest after a clear 4-0 win against Brazil. However, due to the corona pandemic, this was postponed to April 13-18, 2021.

In the Porsche Talent Team and Porsche Junior Team, the most promising young German female players are supported in their development by professional training and support structures. The documentary series "Pathbreaking" produced by the streaming platform DAZN accompanies the DTB talents on their way into professional tennis and takes a look behind the scenes of the German youth development program. The first episode is available on DAZN and porsche-tennis.de . The second edition will follow at the end of December. "Pathbreaking" will accompany the players in the junior teams as a recurring format over the next few years.
