Three years ago, the “Ace Queen” also showed in Stuttgart how to really serve: Karolina Pliskova won the title at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in 2018 thanks to her strong serve. Not really surprising: Pliskova is known to be the player with the most aces per year in the last few seasons (2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019). /

The 29-year-old now also gives her nickname under the #acequeen, she sells corresponding fan shirts on her website - and even a song has been dedicated to her!

The Czech is currently under pressure. In 2020 there was a new top server on the WTA tour: Elena Rybakina!

Aces for the Agapedia Foundation and the Baden-Württemberg State Sports Association

Why is it important? Porsche has been running the “Aces for Charity” campaign for many years. For every ace struck in the course of the tournament, Porsche donates 100 euros to good causes. "This year, given the special situation, we have doubled the amount to 200 euros," explains Dr. Sebastian Rudolph, Head of Communications at Porsche AG.

The money goes to the Agapedia Foundation and the Baden-Württemberg State Sports Association. “You are creating additional sports and exercise offers for children and adolescents in order to at least mitigate the effects of the pandemic for this particularly affected group. For them in particular, it is a big turning point in their lives that they have not been able to use leisure and club sports for a year or more due to the pandemic, "said Rudolph. At the last Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in 2019, the players hit 212 aces. At that time, Porsche rounded the total amount up to 30,000 euros.

The best: In addition to the aces experts Pliskova and Rybakina, Ashleigh Barty, Aryna Sabalenka, Petra Kvitova, Jennifer Brady, Maria Sakkari and Kiki Bertens will also be there this year ... and they are all known for their serve strength.
