Amazing things happened in Abu Dhabi on Thursday: Sofia Kenin had just won the first set against Yang Zhaoxuan 7: 6 (4) when the Chinese worked really hard on her comeback according to the live scoring on the WTA side - and in the second Round was 7: 4 (!) In the lead. Maybe a match tie-break? And that after just one sentence? No. But further proof that a lot is not going right at the WTA. Not even updating the scores for the first tournament of the year. Or on Friday: Aryna Sabalenka was given a virtual third set against Ajla Tomljanovic. The Belarusian had won the first two.

All of this may not have always worked perfectly in the past - but there was the terrific ATP / WTA Live app. With all the results, statistics on the matches and the tables of the individual tournaments. This app has been offline since the beginning of 2021.

While the ATP has long been holding a replacement offer in the form of the official ATP app (not quite as uncomplicated as the former live app, but quite functional), the WTA provided the information that they hope to end something by the end of the first quarter to stand up.
