Admittedly, it wasn't a win for a title, but it was still a sign that Alexander Bublik is really in good shape at the moment . The winner of Montpellier won 6:3 and 6:4 against Croatian Borna Coric in the first round of the Rotterdam tournament.

Are we really seeing a new Alexander Bublik?

In the first set, Bublik managed the decisive break at 3:2 and he never relinquished this lead. He won the set with a service winner. Many rallies in the second set were also evenly balanced. But it was the wit that tipped the scales for Bublik in the decisive situations. The match point was almost identical to the set point in the first set, a service winner.

Just like in his tournament victory a week ago in Montpellier, Bublik didn't fall into any holes in the match and stayed focused the entire time. A quality that he often lacked in the past and that ruined many good results for him.

Apparently he has gotten this problem under control. The results of the last few weeks at least give hope. We stay tuned...
