The historic Wimbledon final between Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer is now almost a week ago, but the match still makes waves. Now the Swedish ex-world number one Mats Wilander has spoken and Federer has been sharply criticized.

The Swede mainly referred to the two match balls with his own service, which the Swiss left unused. Instead of going for the safe first serve, Federer should have risked a little more. "Djokovic would never have done that," said Wilander.

Nadal and Djokovic tactically better

"At these crucial moments, Federer had to pay for the years 2004 to 2007. He dominated his rivals so much that he never had to play an important game. It was too easy for him at the time - so he did not improve tactically," he said the 55-year-old continued to look out. "Nadal and Djokovic are champions in this discipline and he doesn't play these points correctly tactically," Wilander criticized the 37-year-old.

Federer missed two opportunities for his 21st Grand Slam title at 8: 7 in the fifth set and had to congratulate Djokovic on winning a little later. The third in the world rankings will skip the ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Montreal and will only return to the tour in Cincinnati.
