At the end of this summer, the Rafa Nadal Academy will complete its expansion project with the aim of their new sports facilities making the facilities in Manacor a global benchmark. On the occasion of its fifth anniversary , the academy will inaugurate a new building that will house new indoor courts, a new fitness center and a medical center. This enables better service to be provided to the 140 players who live there all year round as part of the annual program in which they train and attend school at the same time. This expansion also serves the adults and young people who visit weekly for short tennis programs.

Rafa Nadal was deeply involved in every detail of the long awaited renovation: “It is clear that one of our unfinished business was to put the finishing touches on the facility. We already had high-quality facilities, but I think that our center will make a decisive leap in quality when the expansion is finished. We're going to expand the clay courts and we're going to expand the indoor courts - something that we still had to do and is very important in order to be able to offer good service.

Qualitative leap forward

The adults who come here to spend a week have the peace of mind that they can train, and all the children who are here all year round will not miss any training days either. So we will now have a total of eleven indoor spaces, which gives us great security in every respect, to offer better service and also to be able to organize much more carefree events. It is a very sizeable, but absolutely necessary, investment. It should mean a qualitative leap for everyone: children, adults and all people who attend the academy. "

After the expansion, the complex will have the following facilities:

The Rafa Nadal Academy is located in Manacor, Rafa's hometown. The location is ideal as it is only 10 minutes from the coast and 35 minutes from Palma de Mallorca, whose international airport has good connections to all European countries. The academy combines high-performance sports education and school tuition to create excellent tennis players, hardworking students and great people for society. In this way, young players from all parts of the world who are trained at the academy combine their tennis activity with an excellent school education. In addition, many professional tennis players choose the academy to hold their preseason or training sessions: Andy Murray, Naomi Osaka, Grigor Dimitrov, Diego Schwartzman or Felix Auger Aliassime were some of the players who have used the facilities.

Everything your heart desires

Although it is a young academy, only five years old, its prestige is based on a thoughtful method developed by the technical team that brought Rafa Nadal to the top of the professional career. The large group of experienced coaches led by Toni Nadal aims to maximize the strengths of each player and get the most out of each of them both on and off the tennis court. The teaching system used for this is based on five pillars:

  1. tennis
  2. Fitness training
  3. psychology
  4. nutrition
  5. technology

One of the keys to the academy's growth has been to consolidate its position as one of the tennis centers that has hosted most of the events and tournaments in recent years. The spacious sports and residential facilities offer top athletes everything they need for an elite competition in a comfortable and ideal environment for sports training. The organization of tournaments of different categories is a clear commitment by Rafa Nadal and his entire team to support tennis from the ground up to professionalism and to give all fans the opportunity to see great international tennis players in Manacor. This summer, the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar will again host the Challenger Rafa Nadal Open by Sotheby's International Realty, the first two winners of which were Bernard Tomic and Emil Ruusuvuori.
