Matteo Berrettini has been able to gain some practice in the past few weeks - unlike his opponent Roberto Bautista Agut. The Spaniard had prevailed against Karen Khachanov 6: 4 and 6: 3 on the first day of Thiem's 7 in Kitzbühel, but the Russian also comes directly from vacation. At the start Berrettini had put Dennis Novak in his place and also won against Bautista Agut in two rounds, 6: 4 and 6: 3.
Dennis Novak was able to write for the first time afterwards: The Austrian number two started brilliantly against Khachanov, winning the first set 6: 1.
