Against the British wildcard and local hero Katie Boulter, the number two of the tournament had to do hard work with Aryna Sabalenka. At first it smelled like sensation at Center Court when Boulter won the opening set 6-4. But then the big favorite caught up, won the second round 6: 3 and finally made the promotion in round three perfect in a contested third set with the same result.

Also in the round of the last 32 is Iga Swiatek from Poland, who never left doubts against the two-time Grand Slam finalist Vera Zvonareva and bought her third round ticket with 6: 1 and 6: 3. However, the number nine of the tournament, the Swiss Belinda Bencic, was eliminated. This fails in two clear sentences to Kaja Juvan from Slovenia.
Mertens and Rybakina confidently
Elise Mertens and Elena Rybakina also didn't burn much. The two top 20 players showed solid performances on Wednesday and bought their ticket for the round of 32 with safe two-set wins. Viktoria Azarenka and Elina Svitolina only achieved their first-round successes on Wednesday. The Svitolina seeded on three had to go over three sets.
