The Czech-Taiwanese duo defeated Storm Hunter and Elise Mertens 7-5, 6-4 to claim their second Wimbledon title together. They had already struck on Center Court in 2019.

The victory for the two is almost a sensation: Strycova and Hsieh only returned to the tour in the spring. Strycova had a child in 2021, Hsieh suspended until 2023 at the end of the year due to injury. And actually Strycova "only" wanted to give her farewell tour until the US Open...

"I couldn't think of a better ending," she said when asked if that was actually her last Wimbledon. "I just want to thank Su-Wei."

She loved Wimbledon as a child and will always love it.
