Wimbledon 2021: Ash Barty and Barbora Krejcikova fix the round of 16
Ash Barty and Barbora Krejcikova are in the round of 16 at the 2021 Wimbledon tournament. The Australian defeated Katerina Siniakova in straight sets, while Krejcikova beat Anastasia Sevastova in a thriller.

For Ash Barty, the Wimbledon tournament is the first appearance after her bitter walkover at the French Open a few weeks ago, when an injury stopped the Australian in the second round. On Church Road, the world number one is now in top shape again, after a contested opening victory, Barty finally dismantled Anna Blinkowa in two sets.
Even in the third round, the leader in the WTA charts showed no nakedness. Against the Czech Katerina Siniakova, Barty won the first round 6: 3 and made the early break in the second set. Although the world number one shook tremendously in the end of the game, with 7: 5 in the second set, the Australian finally booked her ticket for the round of 16, in which it is now against Barbora Krejcikova.
Krejcikova has to stretch
The Czech, who surprisingly won the French Open just a few days ago, showed strong nerves in her third round duel with Anastasia Sevastova. After Krejcikova went 7-1 in the first round in the tie-break, Sevastova countered 6-3. In the decisive set, however, the French Open winner had the longer breath and secured the round of 16 ticket with 7: 5.
