In no other tournament does tradition play such an important role as in Wimbledon. The famous spectator queue will be canceled this year, but heartily expensive strawberries with cream will also be served in 2021. And: The defending champion will open the matches on Center Court (from 2:30 p.m. CEST, live on Sky). Nothing new for Novak Djokovic, the five-time champion at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. But very much for his opponent Jack Draper. The young local hero will hopefully enjoy his premiere. The end of the day on what is probably the most legendary tennis court belongs to Andy Murray, who meets Nikoloz Basilashvili.

With Djokovic, the entire upper half of the 128 grid will be in use on Monday. Jannik Sinner can then try his hand at Marton Fucsovics (12 noon, Court 18), Andrey Rublev against Federico Delbonis (second match after 12 noon on Court 2). Stefanos Tsitsipas has a tough nut to crack, the Greek plays in the second match after 2 p.m. on Court 1 against Frances Tiafoe. The games of Philipp Kohlschreiber against Denis Shapovalov (fourth match after 12 noon on Court 3) and Dominik Koepfer against Reilly Opelka are certainly exciting.

The women’s 2019 winner is missing: Simona Halep withdrew shortly before the draw. The games of the lower half will be played on Monday. There is the name of Aryna Sabalenka, the number two of the tournament. Sabalenka starts at 2 p.m. on Court 1 against Monica Nicolescu. The task for Iga Swiatek is exciting: The 2020 French Open winner will have to deal with the always dangerous Su-Wei Hsieh in the third match after 2 p.m. on Court 1.
