In a duel between two hard hitters, Karolina Pliskova got the upper hand. Although she had to cope with the bitter outcome of the first set: Pliskova had eight break chances in the course of the first round, but used none - mostly because Sabalenka served strongly in the crucial moments. She had her first opportunity at 6-5, Pliskova made a double fault.

However, the Czech did not let this dissuade her from her strong game. Both actors are known for the motto: "Only a hard ball is a good ball" - but Pliskova almost consistently presented herself as the one who, when in doubt, slowed down a bit and swapped it for security. Whereby, when she pulled through, she almost always hit the bullet full. /

In the end she got early breaks in sets two and three, which brought her to victory. And in the end with strong nerves he finished with an ace.
