Wimbledon 2021: Novak Djokovic beats Matteo Berrettini and crowns himself champion

The 2021 Wimbledon final already promised one thing above all with a look at the starting position: high tension. Because for Novak Djokovic, the number one in the tennis world, Church Road was about nothing less than the level of Grand Slam victories with his toughest rivals Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer - Matteo Berrettini, on the other hand, tried his hand at his first final Major level equal to the really big hit.

In the fourth round Berrettini was able to avoid an early break, had a score of 3: 2 from his point of view a 0:30 on Djokovic's serve - but then had to admit enviously that you can make the point well and gladly two or three times against Novak Djokovic got to. With this, Novak Djokovic managed to make history at Wimbledon 2021. For the man from Belgrade it is now the 20th triumph at major level, so the youngest representative of the "Big Three" has drawn level with his long-term rivals Federer and Nadal. And by the way, the "Djoker" also has the chance to win the historic "Calendar Grand Slam", i.e. all major events in a calendar year. The only thing missing is the title win in New York in the fall, after the Australian and French Open - and now also Wimbledon 2021 - have gone to Novak Djokovic.
