Ella Seidel's Wednesday at the All England Lawn Tennis Club dragged on enormously. The 17-year-old German had already completed her main work shortly after noon local time - that was when Seidel made it into the quarter-finals of the juniors' competition with a 7:5 and 6:4 against Yu-Yun Li from Taiwan.

A little later, Seidel had to play doubles together with Joelle Steur, but it wasn't enough to win. And in the early evening, immediately after Rafael Nadal's successful match point against Taylor Fritz, Ella Seidel answered questions from Sky moderator Moritz Lang.

After the interview, however, Seidel left the facility quite quickly, because today, Thursday, the number one in the juniors, 16-year-old Liv Hovde from the USA, is up against the semi-finals (second match after 12 p.m. CEST on court 2). A clear thing from the seeding list - but on the one hand Ella Seidel was able to convince in the course of the tournament so far. Which, on the other hand, cannot be said of Hovde, who only won her round of 16 against Kayla Cross from Canada in three narrow sets. German tennis can not only hope for a final for women.
