Nick Kyrgios remains unbeaten in five sets at Wimbledon: Against Brandon Nakashima, the Australian had to go the full distance at the All England Lawn Tennis Club for the sixth time. And for the sixth time Kyrgios left the court as the winner. This time with 4: 6, 6: 4, 7: 6 (1), 3: 6 and 6: 2. After his dramatic success against Stefanos Tsitsipas, the Australian reached the quarter-finals with another exceptional performance.

Because Nakashima didn't make it easy for his opponent. The American played solidly from the baseline and was able to keep Kyrgios in check with his serve. In addition, Kyrgios had to be treated on the elbow of the right hitting arm after winning the second set. In contrast to the match against Tsitsipas, Kyrgios stayed with himself for the entire playing time of 3:10 hours. And only showed real emotions once: when he managed the double break to make it 4-1 in the fifth set.

Garin succeeds in making a comeback

There was also a special kind of drama on Court 2. There Kyrgios' compatriot Alex de Minaur looked like the sure winner in the first match of the day against Cristian Garin for a long time. The Chilean, actually at home on clay courts, managed to turn things around and won 2:6, 5:7, 7:6 (3), 6:4 and 7:6 (6) after a playing time of 4:34 hours.

In the second quarterfinals of the lower half, the winners of the games between Taylor Fritz and Jason Kubler and Rafael Nadal and Botic van de Zandschulp meet.
