Wimbledon 2022: Niemeier on the way to the "Last 8 Club"
Jule Niemeier is still one step away from the quarter-finals, another victory for an elite group on the tennis tour: the "Last 8 Club". At Wimbledon, all quarter-finalists in singles, all semi-finalists in doubles and finalists in mixed will receive access and a ground ticket to the facility in south-west London each year.

"That was our goal from the start," said Niemeier's coach Christopher Kas after his protégé's hard-fought 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 win over Lesia Zurenko on Friday. Kas himself was in the doubles semi-finals in 2011 and enjoys the advantages of the club, which has been managed since 1986.
"It's very difficult to get tickets here," said Kas: "And now our goal is for Jule to finish in the last eight. Then we'll have a lot more tickets next year. Then we can invite more people - and then we can attack properly."
Wimbledon debutant Niemeier meets Briton Heather Watson, number 109 in the world, in the round of 16. The 22-year-old from Dortmund is only playing her second Grand Slam tournament. She has been working with Kas (42) since this year.
