Wimbledon 2022: Serena Williams will probably serve the classic lawn after all!
Contrary to what was initially assumed,Serena Williams will probably start at this year's Wimbledon tournament.

Good news for all fans of Serena Williams : The American will probably serve in Wimbledon this year. "SW and SW19. It's a date. 2022 See you there," wrote the 40-year-old on Instagram, announcing her appearance at the lawn classic in London.
It is unclear in which competition Williams will start. For an appearance in singles she would need a wild card from the organizers, it also seems conceivable to compete in doubles alongside her sister Venus. The individual wildcards will be awarded on Wednesday.
However, Williams is likely to celebrate her comeback next week at the WTA 500 tournament in Eastbourne. This can also be concluded from the Instagram post of the 23-time single Grand Slam winner.
Williams made her last appearance so far in 2021 in the first round of Wimbledon. Against Aliaksandra Sasnovich, the longtime world number one had to retire after only six games due to a knee injury .
