Wimbledon: Alexander Zverev celebrates safe opening victory over Tallon Griekspoor

Alexander Zverev moved into the second round of Wimbledon without any problems. The German beat Tallon Griekspoor clearly in three sets.

Alexander Zverev beat Tallon Griekspoor in three sets

No problems for Alexander Zverev in his first Grand Slam match since the five-set defeat by Stefanos Tsitsipas in Paris: The German number one clearly beat the Dutch qualifier Tallon Griekspoor in the first round of Wimbledon 6: 3, 6: 4 and 6: 1.

Zverev had to give up his service once in both the first and second round, but overall the 24-year-old presented himself on Court 1, which is covered from sentence two, much more stable than at the preparatory tournament in Halle / Westphalia. Especially with his serve - Zverev hit 20 aces with only four double errors - the native of Hamburg was able to convince.

After exactly 89 minutes of playing time, the opening success, which was never endangered, was fixed. In the second round, Zverev now meets Tenny Sandgren or Norbert Gombos.
