Wimbledon: Ashleigh Barty wins, Elina Svitolina flies

"A good horse only jumps as high as it has to". This sentence could probably be applied to the previous two performances of world number one Ashleigh Barty at Wimbledon. Because after her three-set win over Carla Suarez Navarro at the beginning of the tournament, the Australian did not show a convincing performance against Anna Blinkova either.
Nevertheless, this was enough to defeat the Russian on Center Court 6: 4 and 6: 3. However, nine double errors and 33 unforced errors were indicative of an at best average performance by Barty. In the third round against Katerina Siniakova, the 25-year-old has to improve to keep the chance of her first Wimbledon title.
Elina Svitolina, however, is no longer allowed to concern herself with such thoughts. The third-placed Ukrainian had to admit defeat to Magda Linette 3: 6 and 4: 6 in the second round. The Polish woman now has to deal with Paola Badosa.
