According to his own statement, Carlos Alcaraz first has to adapt his game for the lawn

Carlos Alcaraz is undoubtedly the hottest men's tennis stock for years to come. The 19-year-old youngster from the Murcia region has already won two ATP Masters 1000 events (Miami, Madrid) and two ATP World Tour 500 tournaments (Rio de Janeiro, Barcelona) this season and proved that he can show his full spectrum first and foremost on red ashes, but can also hit hard on the hard courts of the ATP tour.

But what does the game of the currently seventh in the world rankings look like on grass? So far, Alcaraz has only played two games on the green surface - both last year at the major tournament in London, where he defeated the Japanese Yasutaka Uchiyama in five sets in round one, before then beating Daniil Medvedev again in three clear rounds was over on the hallowed turf of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

"Will try to enjoy it"

The Spaniard has this to say about the current situation to his colleagues at ubitennis.net: "It is extremely important to learn to move on grass and it is the key to get good results. We are currently trying the movement and small Improving detail on the volley. I have no problem staying in the back without any pressure. Some people put me among the favorites at Wimbledon but to be honest I don't think so."

"There are a bunch of players who are playing a lot better on grass than me at the moment. For example Novak Djokovic, [Rafel] Nadal or Matteo Berrettini, they are playing incredibly well. But we will try to enjoy playing on grass - now and in the future," said the protégé of former world number one Juan Carlos Ferrero. The Iberian opens at Wimbledon this year against Germany's Jan-Lennard Struff and could face Oscar Otte, seeded 32 at Church Road, in round three.

Here is the individual tableau from Wimbledon.
