Felix Auger-Aliassime cannot count on the support of his coach Toni Nadal in Wimbledon. As the Canadian confirmed after the two-set defeat against Novak Djokovic at London's Hurlingham Club , the 61-year-old will not travel to the British capital to look after the Canadian in the lawn Mecca.

"He has other commitments and won't be here," said Auger-Aliassime, who will be in contact with the Spaniard ahead of the tournament: "We'll talk to each other this week to remember certain things. I'm sure "That will encourage me. Sometimes we talk to each other during tournaments and sometimes we don't. We don't have a strict routine."

Excitement at the French Open

Most recently, the collaboration between Auger-Aliassime and Nadal caused a stir at the French Open when the Canadian met his coach's nephew Rafael Nadal. "Uncle Toni", who observed the match from a neutral position, explained after the five -set thriller that he had his fingers crossed for his family member.

In London, Auger-Aliassime now commented on the situation in the French capital: "We knew from the start that it would be like this, since we started working together. When we played in Paris and that happened, it wasn't a surprise . We knew from the start that if he had to 'play' his nephew it would be done this way. No problem." On Friday there will be a new edition between Auger-Aliassime and Nadal at the Hurlingham Club as part of an exhibition match.

In Wimbledon, where he failed last year in the quarterfinals to Matteo Berrettini, Auger-Aliassime will be looked after by Frederic Fontang.
