Angelique Kerber is 15th seeded at the Wimbledon Championships

After the previous year's men's champion - in the current case Novak Djokovic - is traditionally allowed to play the opening game on the first day of the Wimbledon tournament on Center Court, this honor will exceptionally be given to the top seeded Iga Swiatek on Tuesday after the Winner of 2021 Ashleigh Barty declared her career over at the beginning of this season after her triumph at the Australian Open.

The eagerly awaited return of the 23-time major champion Serena Williams will only take place on the second day of the game. That's why the women's competition won't be boring tomorrow, Monday, because there is a high probability that there will be exciting debates on the five-star schedule menu.

Angelique Kerber opens against Kristina Mladenovic

After the match of the first seeded third in the world rankings from Serbia, the local hero Emma Raducanu can play her first game (2nd match after 14:30 CEST) on the holy lawn of Wimbledon after her brilliant US Open triumph last year. Whether she is to be envied for this, especially because of her drawn competitor, is another matter - Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck is a player who knows how to surprise time and again with her unpredictable game, especially on fast rubbers.

The 28-year-old was already in the round of 16 of the Grand Slam tournament on Curch Road in 2018 and three weeks ago won the title at the $100,000 ITF grass event in British Surbiton. On Court 1, the Tunisian Ons Jabeur, ranked third, plays the first encounter of the day against the Swedish qualifier Mirjam Bjorklund, before the hottest German iron Angelique Kerber challenges the Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic in the third game of the second largest show court.

Viewers on Court 2 will witness the first appearances of second-seeded Estonian Annet Kontaveit (against American Bernarda Pera) and fifth-ranked Greek Maria Sakkari (against Zoe Hives of Australia).
