The 33-year-old Siegemund (Metzingen) and her Russian partner lost in the round of 16 against the Japanese Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara 2-6, 5-7.

Siegemund was the last remaining German in the women's doubles. In the men's competition, no German had reached the last sixteen.
