Wimbledon: Rafael Nadal beats Yuichi Sugita - duel with Nick Kyrgios is waiting

Rafael Nadal reached the second round of Wimbledon 2019 on Tuesday evening. The Spaniard survived a startling moment at the first point of the match and ultimately won confidently in just over two hours with 6: 3, 6: 1, 6: 3. Nick Kyrgios is now waiting for lap two.

"I'm very happy with the win. It's been a year since I played my last match on grass. There are some things that need to be improved," said Nadal after the game.

At the very first rally of the game, Nadal slipped after the serve and went down. The man from Mallorca looked completely unsettled and lost the first eleven points of the match. But Nadal got the first set after 45 minutes with two breaks.

After 3: 3 in the first set, Nadal, who struck a total of eleven aces, won seven games in a row, the second set was quickly decided with two early breaks. In the third round, both players kept their serve up to 4: 3 for Nadal before the Spaniard started the decisive break.

In the second round, there is a crackdown against unattached Nick Kyrgios, who defeated Nadal in Acapulco last February.

"I am too old for these things. I will not start a fight with another player. I want to enjoy this sport and enjoy this match on a big court," said Nadal when asked about the media hiccup that Kyrgios started a few weeks ago.
