The good news for Tim van Rijthoven doesn't stop: The 25-year-old Dutchman won his first ATP tournament on Sunday in 's-Hertogenbosch - with a convincing 6: 4 and 6.1 against Daniil Medvedev - now van Rijthoven can too planning to start at Wimbledon. Because the All England Lawn Tennis Club has given him a wild card for the classic in south-west London.
This makes van Rijthoven one of three non-British people who get a fixed place in the tableau, although they would not have qualified due to the world rankings. Tim van Rijthoven is in prominent company: the other two international free tickets go to Serena Williams and Stan Wawrinka .
But of course the local heroes don't go away empty-handed either: Katoe Boulter, Jodie Burrage, Sonay Kartal, Yuniko Miyazaki and Katie Swan are happy for the women, two more wildcards are still open. For men, the list includes Liam Broady, Jay Clarke, Alasatair Gray, Paul Jubb and Ryan Peniston. The latter eliminated number one of the tournament, Casper Ruud, at Queen's Club on Tuesday.
