No, he did not know enough about the game layout of his first-round opponent Lloyd Harris, Roger Federer admitted in an interview this weekend. After half an hour, however, the 22-year-old South African had given his business card to Center Court in Wimbledon - and surprisingly won the first set 6: 3.

Federer shook briefly, taking the next two rounds 6-1 and 6-2. After that, Harris had to have his left calf bandaged, but the outsider lacked the means for the big comeback. After a total of 1:50 hours, Federer won set four 6-2.

Federer with a good draw

Federer is in second place at Wimbledon, the next round is for the eight-time champion either against Noah Rubin from the USA or the British Jay Clarke. The draw was not bad for Federer, in lap three Lucas Pouille could be the first to wait.

Against Harris, Federer reduced his own error rate after losing the first act, while the South African had less and less success with his high-risk strikes. Federer managed to break 2-1 in the third game of the fourth set, after which the maestro did not look back.
