The return of Dennis Novak to Günter Bresnik in Südstadt, which became known on Friday, was still a big topic of conversation in the tennis scene on Saturday. Wolfgang Thiem criticized the 59-year-old coach in ORF contributions in short sports and Sport 20, but took Novak himself out of the line of fire. He in turn commented on his change again. And Bresnik also briefly commented on the cause in a communication, even if he did not give an interview.

"Günter simply wrapped him around his finger with his manipulative abilities," attacked academy director Wolfgang Thiem Bresnik in his statement. "I already see it as a personal campaign of revenge against my person." He is not angry with Novak because he is simply the victim, the weakest link in the chain. This (the change, note) should be attributed to Bresnik. "It's a shame Dennis fell for it." In the past, Novak had almost never worked with Bresnik, was more or less a companion.

Bresnik countered soberly: "That is Dennis Novak's business. If he makes that decision, he will have his reasons for it." Novak, in turn, saw previous disagreements with Dominic Thiem's ex-coach resolved. "We eliminated all of that, met and talked more often and clarified everything and parted on the good side," said Austria's 27-year-old tennis number two about his current relationship with Bresnik.

According to Novak, he has nothing against Wolfgang Thiem or the Thiem family. "For me it's purely professional. I have to look at myself and my job. Everyone knows that tennis is limited, the professional career. I have to get the most out of myself." He had a long conversation with Dominic Thiem because it was important to him because of his friendship with him. Novak: "We had a good conversation and in any case nothing will change between us."
