It has been clear for a few weeks that Alejandro Galan and Juan Lebron will be the world number ones on the World Padel Tour. And with that, of course, also the favorites for the two Spaniards at the end of the season, which will be held in Barcelona from December 15th to 18th, 2022. As in tennis, for example, the top eight teams of the season will compete there.
With a view to the 2022 race, however, one has to ask oneself who could pose a threat to Galan/Lebron. In any case, Carlos Gutierrez and Augustin Tapia qualified as the second best duo. With about two-thirds of the points that Galan and Lebron collected over the entire year. At most, Fernando Belasteguin and the shooting star Arturo Coello could be regarded as reasonably promising outsiders.
The situation is much more balanced for women - at least as far as the absolute top is concerned: Because the leaders in the race, Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez, did not even collect 200 points more than their first pursuers Gemma Triay and Alessandra Salazar.
