Miami and padel - that should actually be a natural combination. Even if the Americans have not yet played a role in the up-and-coming trend sport. And so the start of the World Padel Tour 2022 last weekend became a party, which Austria's ex-double ace Oliver Marach also attended with interest. The Styrian saw Arturo Coello's first tour success, who won the men's event with his partner Fernando Belasteguin.

Coello wrote a little padel history: at 19, the man from Valladolid is the youngest player to win a tournament in this category. In the final, Belasteguin/Coello won against Javi Garrido and Lucas Campagnolo 6:3 and 7:6 (3).

Before the tournament in Miami, Fernando Belasteguin was ninth in the world rankings, Arturo Coello was only 15th.

In June there is padel in Vienna

The women's first major title of the season went to the favourites: Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Triay, the two leaders in the Pade rankings, defeated Ariana Sánchez and Gemma Triay 6-2 and 6-2 in the final. Salazar and Triay had won a total of eight tournaments on the World Padel Tour last year.

If you want to see the padel aces in German-speaking countries up close, you should keep the week from June 6th to June 12th free: That's when the World Padel Tour stops in Vienna.
