Alejandro Galan and Juan Lebron - the best padel duo in the world

Malmö, Buenos Aires and Mexico - before the last big title on the World Padel Tour 2022 is in Barcelona in a few weeks, the top professionals still have half a world trip ahead of them. And maybe one or the other couple will skip an event to save themselves for the festival in Palau Sant Jordi. Up to 10,000 fans are expected there at the end of the season.

And those fans will definitely get to see Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galan, the world's best duo again this year. Lebron and Galan could afford round one defeats in each of these events. And would still certainly hold their place at the Masters. There are still 3,600 points up for grabs in the annual standings. Galan/Lebron are 3,330 points ahead of the next best duo, Augustin Tapia and Sanyo Gutierrez.

Spaniards and Argentines dominate

The latter are also already qualified for the grand final. This also applies to promoted Arturo Coello and his partner Fernando Belasteguin.

But the list also shows: Also this season, the Spaniards and Argentines have made up the world padel sport among themselves. The fact that a few "exotics" are allowed to get a taste of the big tournaments - such as the two best Austrian players Christoph Krenn and David Alten in Vienna - brings important experience for the lucky few. In order to establish padel as a truly global sport that also inspires fans outside of the epicentres, the world's best would have to be much more diverse.
