Iga Swiatek leads the world-class field in Berlin

"This high level of performance makes Berlin the center of the tennis world in mid-June," said tournament director Barbara Rittner. At the WTA tournament on the spectacularly beautiful LTTC "Rot-Weiss" facility in Berlin from June 11th to 19th, in addition to tournament victory and valuable world ranking list points, total prize money of 757,000 US dollars is at stake. Two main field wildcards are also up for grabs.

Servus TV broadcasts all games live and unencrypted on free TV.

The top field is led by world number one Iga Swiatek, winner of the French Open 2020. Paula Badosa, number 3 in the world rankings, is second. Following in the top 10 are Maria Sakkari, Sofia Kenin (sharing WTA #4), Anett Kontaveit (WTA #5), Ons Jabeur (WTA #6), Aryna Sabalenka (WTA #7), Danielle Collins ( WTA No. 9) and Garbine Muguruza (WTA No. 10). Reigning Olympic champion and last year's bett1open finalist, Belinda Bencic (WTA #14), is also in the game.

Coco Gauff also plays in Berlin

There are a total of six players who have won twelve Grand Slam titles together. Barbara Rittner is accordingly impressed: "This absolutely outstanding field shows the importance that Berlin now has in the world of tennis thanks to the bett1open."

Superstars like the three-time Grand Slam winner Naomi Osaka (WTA No. 38) make their Berlin debut. The same applies to Coco Gauff (WTA No. 18) - at just 18 years old, she already has the greatest promise of a great tennis future, and she is even playing for her first major title on grass in Berlin. In short: a women's tennis tournament with such a top-class cast is practically unique in Germany.

A special highlight: The draw for the main draw, which also includes the top players, will take place live on the center court on Sunday.

Franziska Giffey, the Governing Mayor of Berlin, will officially open the tournament. She says: "During the bett1open , all eyes in the world of women's tennis will be on Berlin."

The bett1open use this global attention to have a social and sustainable effect. 500 refugees from Ukraine who had to flee the war in their homeland are invited to the opening ceremony on Sunday, June 12.
