In the final, Sabalenka now meets Caroline Garcia from France, who previously beat Maria Sakkari from Greece 6:3, 6:2. Sabalenka's success against Swiatek was the first in five meetings this season. However, the Belarusian already had good chances against the world number one in the semifinals of the US Open a few weeks ago in New York City. At that time, however, Sabalenka could not bring a break lead in the third set over the distance.

Garcia, on the other hand, drew attention to himself with the title in Cincinnati in the summer, but will still be happy not to have to face Swiatek in the final. In the preliminary round, the French had no chance in the encounter with the industry leader.

The final in doubles will be played by favorites Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova against Elise Mertens and Veronika Kudermetova.
