WTA Hamburg: Anett Kontaveit and Daria Kasatkina lead the field, five Germans at the start

Anett Kontaveit entered the field at short notice at the WTA 250 event in Hamburg and will lead this top seed, number two is the Russian Daria Kasatkina . Also present in the Hanseatic city: five DTB players.

Anett Kontaveit meets Romanian Irina Bara at the start, Elena-Gabriela Ruse could wait in round two. Possible opponent in the quarter-finals is Germany's Andrea Petkovic, who will meet compatriot Tamara Korpatsch at the start. Number two of the tournament is Daria Kasatkina from Russia, who will face Katerina Siniakova in the opener. Possible quarter-final opponent is Tamara Zidansek.

From a German point of view, alongside Korpatsch and Petkovic, Eva Lys will also be at the start, who will meet a qualifier at the start. Nastasja Schunk gets to do it with Aliaksandra Sasnovich at the start. Jule Niemeier completes the DTB quintet and meets a qualifier at the start. Possible second round opponent is Tamara Zidansek.
