The 22-year-old from Dortmund lost to the Swiss world number 165. Joanne Zuger on Tuesday 4: 6, 6: 0, 4: 6. The hardships of the previous weeks were noticeable to the German hopeful.
Niemeier had already said before her match that with her strong run in Wimbledon and the subsequent participation in the quarter-finals in Lausanne she "left her mind" and therefore did not have the greatest expectations of herself in the Hanseatic city.
